- 05:40 Fleury14: i got through dkc the first trip. did bahamut and masa altar first after a lifeglitched hairdryer run. porom didnt have cure4, but has about 1200hp. bs6, was pretty clean. darted spoon, got a blarg off, avenger kain did the rest

- 05:42 ScytheMarshall: and I didn't do hairdryers on the way down, since I figured I had a strong enough party to do pretty much anything

- 05:44 ScytheMarshall: I just didn't feel like grinding
- 05:44 ScytheMarshall: but that was the play
- 05:44 ScytheMarshall: because I was never going to find the objective KI
- 05:44 Fleury14: this was one seed where checking hobs right off the bat helped, saw it was edge and was able to start checks after the first shop had a mura
- 05:45 ScytheMarshall: yeah. I guess like, how often is it reasonable to check Hobs without any way to beat it?
- 05:45 ScytheMarshall: like, if it's not Edge or Cid with a good weapon, this party can't beat the boss at base levels
- 05:45 ScytheMarshall: with no gear
- 05:46 ScytheMarshall: I guess it's a fast reset otherwise.

- 05:50 Fleury14: i just get tired of spending 5 minutes shopping to get a passable team and then see the answer sitting on hobs from game start

- 05:53 Fleury14: if my starting two has either edge, cid, or kain, i wont do it because i'll *usually* find something passable
- 05:55 ScytheMarshall: makes sense. hm. that's +1 for Watery Pass opener, since you're kind of right there
- 05:55 ScytheMarshall: I did Castle Eblan and walked away with a cool 245k GP, which I promptly spent on Crystal Rings and other assorted fun gear (Stardust Rod in Feymarch early)
- 05:56 ScytheMarshall: but Magma Key is always a bad decision I think
