- 02:09 Te_N_: Yeah, these flags make Djinn a pain, so if you can easily djinn-skip it's actually worth. I also did since I had only 8 bombs when I went there

- 02:11 Te_N_: There are some things to take into account on these seeds where you know what levels you want for DK
- 02:11 Te_N_: Specifically what dungeons are in the windia region.
- 02:11 Ultimaderp: Level Forest was where I went to try and grind
- 02:11 Te_N_: With 50% density, you can count on grinding a TON in some dungeons
- 02:11 Ultimaderp: Best mobs there were the Fish
- 02:11 Te_N_: I mean, that's not necessarily bad.
- 02:12 Ultimaderp: Also, the Lamia on the Ship were probably at max % in terms of Health. Took more than a White and a Flare to kill.
- 02:12 Te_N_: If you have Phoebe you should shoot to start the boss rush at level 19 because you'll hit 20 guaranteed

- 02:12 Te_N_: Fireburg vampire also rolled huge.
- 02:12 Ultimaderp: I was 17 though, but even then putting out around 500 damage/Flare
- 02:12 Te_N_: Tanked 500 damage without their phase change

- 02:13 Te_N_: I haven't watched a ton of your runs or anything, but generally for newer runners, learning what the flags make "useless" will usually cut a huge chunk of time off runs

- 02:14 Te_N_: Exactly. Did you know that also includes both venus key chests? I know it's been discussed in the discord before but it's easy to forget

- 02:15 Te_N_: Things to note for flags like this are knowing which dungeons are "worth" the time investment.

- 02:15 Ultimaderp: And sometimes it's a matter of "Where do you go"
- 02:15 Ultimaderp: But uh
- 02:15 Te_N_: Since brown boxes aren't incentivized, diving volcano, mine (besides claw chest), mount gale, and wintry cave to an extent, are not always a good play

- 02:16 Te_N_: No, I forgot about them and farmed in volcano instead (which is technically better anyways)

- 02:18 Te_N_: It wouldn't hurt. At the very least, watching what other people decide to do on the same seeds is super helpful.

- 02:19 Te_N_: A key thought, though, is that this is a randomizer. It's never going to be a direct, "This is what you have to do next", sometimes you just get lucky

- 02:19 Te_N_: Like the ladder race the other day, Possum would never have fought crab early like I did because it's a single check and there was more available. Ended up costing him the run ultimately, but he makes better decisions than me most of the time.

- 02:20 Ultimaderp: But I know I'm running with top runners as is, so honestly kinda wondering if I can manage a win one of these days
- 02:21 Te_N_: I'll try to make a mental "short route" during my run when I have a brain-dead section
- 02:21 Ultimaderp: I tend to make a habit of checking all the chests tbh
- 02:21 Ultimaderp: Since stuff can spawn anywhere even if Prio is normal chests
- 02:21 Te_N_: Note what you have available to you and where the spots are in the overworld so you can make a single path without going back and forth between regions as much as possible.
- 02:22 Te_N_: Yeah, I check "all" chests as well. Possum actually checks all chests. I won't generally check the two chest in p tower unless I HAVE to, Possum checks them ASAP every tinme

- 02:22 Ultimaderp: But unless I'm geared and good to go, upgrades are upgrades
- 02:23 Ultimaderp: Gaia/Apollo/Cupid/Aegis
- 02:23 Te_N_: Yeah I never stop opening reds unless I have all of Moon/Gaia/Aegis/Locket + Flare/White and Life
- 02:23 Ultimaderp: I've skipped Life more often than not
- 02:23 Te_N_: Yeah, Ben life is SUPER handy, but definitely not needed
- 02:24 Ultimaderp: Mainly because I'm too used to using Companion LIfe as is
- 02:24 Te_N_: During the SGL tournament and practices/qualifiers I was routinely skipping life
- 02:24 Ultimaderp: Life just doesn't have much value on Ben
- 02:24 Te_N_: Yeah, with vanilla DK, if you're resorting to Benjamin life then you're already going to wipe 50% of the time anyways
- 02:25 Ultimaderp: You need Moon for Mega Flare at minimum
- 02:25 Ultimaderp: What's Apollo resist anyway?
- 02:25 Ultimaderp: Is it just extra Armor?
- 02:25 Te_N_: Nothing extra, just 7 extra def
- 02:25 Ultimaderp: Ah well
- 02:26 Ultimaderp: Gaia isn't a huge difference in DK either tbf
- 02:26 Ultimaderp: It's just the DEF
- 02:26 Ultimaderp: You really just need Aegis/Cupid as a hard requirement since Silver/Gold Thread can screw you up
- 02:27 Te_N_: It does also give you thunder, wind, water, and poison resist
- 02:27 Ultimaderp: It'll help with bosses at least
- 02:27 Ultimaderp: But it's not hard required
- 02:27 Te_N_: Yeah, I mean you can never really "plan" on getting equipment unless you plan on continuing to clear the game
- 02:28 Te_N_: But if you're missing 2 gears or more I would probably look for them before diving boss rush
- 02:28 Ultimaderp: I think the one thing I do fitz on is menuing.
- 02:28 Te_N_: That's usually the hardest part for people in this game
- 02:28 Te_N_: Since menuing is nearly frame-perfect you have the ability to go fast as shit, but going fast as shit without mistakes is difficult lol

- 02:29 Ultimaderp: At the least, I'll hopefully get better as I keep running.
