- 03:29 FirebrandPhlox: yeah the first blooper chest was something I didn't care about, that i checked and save scummed lol
- 03:29 pitman920: I kinda let power bounce and mega quake damage carry me through most of the fights
- 03:29 pitman920: ended with like 25 fp from mega quake being expensive but also doing like 12 damage
- 03:30 FirebrandPhlox: Yeah, I should've done more fp sooner so I could rely more on the damage I had on the badges
- 03:30 FirebrandPhlox: I'll have to keep that in mind for next time
- 03:30 pitman920: yeah I didn't have any good partners really
- 03:30 pitman920: idk it may not have been the best thing - a lot of the fp was from fp pluses

- 03:31 FirebrandPhlox: all their abilities were so expensive, and i never got any to ultra because how late ultra stone was
- 03:31 pitman920: I used watt for the charge even though it was 5 and bombette for power bomb even though it was 7 lol
- 03:31 pitman920: yeah I just never even had found it
- 03:32 pitman920: saved some easy ones in case since I didn't really need like kooper upgraded

- 03:35 pitman920: I was trying to math out if I could defense stack bowser at 5 hp

- 03:35 pitman920: I had 5 life shrooms and 3 repel gels so I could just brute force it
- 03:36 pitman920: but I did go back up to 10 hp just to be safe for it
- 03:36 FirebrandPhlox: yeah, bad seed for me. it took 2 tries for crystal king and final bowser for me
- 03:36 FirebrandPhlox: yeah, i had 3 life shrooms, 0 repel gels oops
- 03:36 FirebrandPhlox: i basically just prayed to the rng gods and they took pity on me try 2
- 03:36 pitman920: I was gonna go buy a bunch in koopa village if I didn't already have some

- 03:37 FirebrandPhlox: i forgot to go buy them and was like "eh, I give bowser 2 tries, if I die after 2, I'll DNF"

- 03:37 FirebrandPhlox: I knew they were early, but not in toad town
- 03:38 pitman920: yup - had stopped in the first shop a couple times and knew spike shield was in the second and nothing else near the end
- 03:38 pitman920: which somehow wasn't necessary for jr troopa
- 03:39 pitman920: it went on, but he never got to that phase
- 03:39 FirebrandPhlox: oh, he got there on mine, but we powered through
- 03:39 pitman920: I think he capped super late on power bounce for me
- 03:39 pitman920: or something like that
- 03:40 FirebrandPhlox: yeah, power bounce was mean in the late game and I kept getting 3-capped

- 03:41 pitman920: it was 4 bp but still worth it for the help with the cap

- 03:42 pitman920: fair - I think I got 3 capped once and then like 6 capped on final bowser
- 03:42 FirebrandPhlox: my good final bowser started with a 6 cap on phase 1, but he healed most of that back since I didn't have repel gels to keep me in danger/peril
- 03:44 pitman920: oh fair - he was like 60 after phase 1 so I think he technically could've healed but didn't?
- 03:44 pitman920: I don't quite know when it lets him heal for that
- 03:44 FirebrandPhlox: i have no idea, it's too technical for me
- 03:45 FirebrandPhlox: i just play on vibes, hence my consistently 4+ hour times lol
- 03:45 pitman920: yeah I know it's if your health is 25% higher than his % of health he has a 75% chance to heal - but idk how that works right as phase 2 starts

- 03:47 FirebrandPhlox: i've developed strats for a few rooms/areas, but i still just do too many random battles

- 03:48 pitman920: but I feel like the seed definitely helped at the beginning and end there
- 03:49 FirebrandPhlox: the beginning of the seed was so good
- 03:49 FirebrandPhlox: as you said, those early ultra boots helped a LOT
- 03:50 pitman920: yeah there was still a bunch of ping ponging around to different checks in different chapters but being mostly good in fights was really useful
- 03:50 FirebrandPhlox: the early damage helped so much. wish i got more seeds like that
- 03:51 pitman920: definitely an improvement over 2.5 hours of no boot upgrades lmao
- 03:51 pitman920: also just power plus being 1 bp and there immediately, plus p up d down and all or nothing being dirt cheap and early was just great
- 03:52 pitman920: I feel like it pitied us for that last seed lol
