- 23:35 YourUncleFinch: Oh! So I was going through racetime and the ladder, it sounds like you're pretty new to ALTTPR? Had you played the main game a bit before?
- 23:36 ARabidWombat85: I had this game when I was 7. I watched ALTTPR for a few years. ScottishBrave44's community convinced me to join the mentor tourney.

- 23:37 YourUncleFinch: I was gonna say, for being pretty new to actually racing, making the Tempered Sword bracket's pretty darn awesome!
- 23:37 ARabidWombat85: I put a lot of work in with cstutor89. I was slightly familiar with routing so we just drilled execution a lot. I tried to pick up some tricks on my own. I feel like I got most of the common ones.

- 23:38 ARabidWombat85: I can spin dash, but I'm not consistent
- 23:39 YourUncleFinch: It shows! And yeah, execution is definitely a differentiator; I worked on Blind and Mothula fights with Orange, and it's fantastic to be somewhat consistent with them finally!
- 23:40 YourUncleFinch: Oh, I'm terribly at spin dashes, lol; I think part of it is being a keyboard player (so my thumb can't just slip from one button to the next), so I have to use hook speed instead
- 23:40 ARabidWombat85: Oh that's neat. I just assumed that most people used a controller of some sort.

- 01:35 YourUncleFinch: It felt like the remaining checks earlier on were all a high time investment for like one item

- 01:36 ARabidWombat85: so I just ran through it w/no checks

- 01:36 YourUncleFinch: Same here; this felt like a seed where breaking too much logic (well, except for that Frod) would punish, especially if you did potion glitch
- 01:37 ARabidWombat85: I needed mitts/boots/flute and they all ran one after the other
- 01:37 ARabidWombat85: I literally did one check in PoD. Got mirror and left immediately
- 01:37 YourUncleFinch: Yeah; I didn't have the right items for splash deletion for the Zora Ledge bow
- 01:38 ARabidWombat85: I didn't do water checks til after SP
- 01:38 ARabidWombat85: didn't need to splash delete
- 01:38 YourUncleFinch: So getting flute/boots/bow put me in go
- 01:38 YourUncleFinch: Ah, so you had flippers way earlier than I did then
- 01:38 YourUncleFinch: I was able to go-mode SP
- 01:38 ARabidWombat85: probably a trade-off on PoD time
- 01:39 ARabidWombat85: I probably just routed my overworld a bit slow
- 01:40 YourUncleFinch: It felt really bad getting only the second crystal at the hour mark...and then got the next three in like 15 minutes, lol
- 01:40 ARabidWombat85: Think I ended up double dipping eastern
- 01:40 YourUncleFinch: I also ended up double-dipping Eastern, and I think it was required to anyway
- 01:40 ARabidWombat85: yeah, hammer was there wasn't it
- 01:40 YourUncleFinch: What with hammer and sword
- 01:40 ARabidWombat85: my first sword was back of escape
- 01:41 YourUncleFinch: Ah; mine was Eastern. I did back of escape, then front of escape, then death warped to do Aga1
- 01:41 YourUncleFinch: Ended with Tempered
- 01:41 ARabidWombat85: i would've done that if i had master sword
- 01:41 ARabidWombat85: so i had to go back to aga 1
- 01:41 ARabidWombat85: which i did when i found boots
- 01:42 ARabidWombat85: ah well. GL with the rest of the tournament
- 01:42 YourUncleFinch: Ah; I ended up opting to just do Aga pretty soon after getting master sword and lamp
- 01:42 YourUncleFinch: And then using that to check Pyramid Ledge and Catfish

- 01:43 ARabidWombat85: I think I did mushroom at the same time as well
